T. Franklin Williams, M.D. () was a prominent figure in geriatric medicine, geriatric medical training and issues related to long-term care during the final decades of the 20th century. In a career that spanned more than half a century, Williams was on the faculty of the University of North.   A day-by-day search of its pages on microfilm turned up many deaths that had not been covered by local newspapers. A wealth of information also was found at the Southern Regional Council. This research became the basis for our book "Free at Last: A History of the Civil Rights Movement and Those Who Died in the Struggle.".

The Southern Regional Council (SRC) is a reform-oriented organization created in to avoid racial violence and promote racial equality in the Southern United registration and political-awareness campaigns are used toward this end.
